Thank you for joining us at the National Gathering for International Day Against Police Brutality on March 15th at the University of Ottawa, on unceded and unsurrendered Algonquin territory.

We know that hearing stories of police violence and loss can be painful and re-traumatizing. As we continue to build a movement rooted in care, resilience, and justice, please reach out if you need support:

This gathering would not have been possible without the collective efforts of the Ottawa Transformative Justice CollectiveJustice for Anthony Aust CollectiveIncarcerated Voters of OntarioRegis for Ever Foundation, and Freedom is a Must. We are grateful to build with community members who are deeply impacted by state violence, racial capitalism, heteropatriarchy, ableism, and other systems of oppression.

Thank you to everyone involved for contributing your time, your stories, your hands, and your hearts. Your energy helped create a space of meaning, care, resistance, and connection. We also deeply appreciate your patience through our technical difficulties and your willingness to stay as we went overtime to hold space for every powerful voice and call for justice. The room was full—and so were many bellies thanks to the incredible food shared in community.

With your support through donations and merch purchases, we raised $3,618, surpassing our fundraising goal! These funds supported food for attendees and unhoused community members, speaker honorariums, travel and hospitality for out-of-town guests, posters honoring victims of police violence, supplies, and more. This was mutual aid in action—thank you for showing what solidarity looks like.
