Zoom information meeting for students and community members interested in possibly volunteering with the Criminalization and Punishment Education Project or with Canadian Students For A Sensible Drug Policy, two groups active at the University of Ottawa. The Criminalization and Punishment Education Project (www.cp-ep.org) does research and activism to reduce and ultimately end the use and harms of incarceration, and to defund police and the system and move towards community alternatives. Canadian Students for Sensible Drug Policy (CSSDP www.cssdp.org) is a grassroots network comprised of youth and students who are concerned about the negative impact our drug policies have on individuals and communities. They consider problematic drug use in society primarily a health issue rather than a criminal justice issue, and advocate for appropriate responses to reduce and prevent harm from drug use.
