Propagations For Abolition Fundraiser July 29th

On July 29th from 10am to 4pm at the Arlington Five Cafe CPEP will be hosting it’s second annual fundraiser for Prisoners’ Justice Day 2023 and the organization. The pop up will feature the sale of many different plant propagations, CPEP merchandise AND a raffle to win local goods and art! Facebook event here.

August 10th is Prisoners’ Justice Day, which honors the lives of those who have died at the hands of the state while incarcerated. CPEP is raising funds for its many initiatives, including to support actions on Prisoners’ Justice Day.

An array of plant cuttings will be provided by Plant & Curio for you to purchase(prices will vary depending on the size of the plant). CPEP merch will be sold, as well as issues of the Journal of Prisoners on Prisons! Harm reduction supply will also be available and provided by the Solidarity Alliance of People who Use Drugs.

The raffle can be entered by donating online through an e-transfer, or in person at the event. $5.00 per 1 submission! E-Transfer to enter is: jpp@uottawa.ca, password: abolition. Please add PJD as a message when sending.

Raffle entry will open from tom os posting to Sunday July 30th at 2:00 pm. The raffle winner will be announced on the last day at 5:00 pm on the CPEP Instagram.

Want to contribute to the event? We are accepting any plant propagation donations from the community! Drop off plant propagations(does not need to be rooted) at Arlington Five Cafe anytime between now and the day of the event. There will be a donation box. Pick-up is also an option if you are in the Centretown area. Contact us to coordinate pick ups!
